Our Beliefs
We believe in God the Father almighty;
creator of Heaven and earth,
and in Christ Jesus His only Son, our Lord,
Who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary,
Who under Pontius Pilate was crucified and buried,
on the third day rose again from the dead,
ascended to heaven,
sits at the right hand of the Father,
from where He will come to judge the living and the dead;
and in the Holy Spirit,
the holy global Church,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the flesh
(the life everlasting).
Our Ethics
As Christians, we are to repent from sin and follow Jesus. Thus, we are to repent from sinful patterns of behavior such as pride, divisiveness, anger, lust, sexual immorality, gossip, and deceit (Mark 7:21-23; Gal. 5:19-21; 1 Cor. 6:9), and produce the fruit of the spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness (Gal. 5:22-23). Living in unrepentant sin is not what God desires for his Church, which has been set apart as holy (1 Pet. 2:9; Luke 5:32; Luke 15:7). We believe that Christians should have a certain posture towards one another, God, and theology, one of humility, gentleness, and respect, seeking the good of others before yourself.
Our Philosophy
We seek to correct our beliefs in light of the scriptures. We want to cultivate a community that humbles itself before God, the scriptures and one another in our pursuit of the truth in love.
About Us
The Church of the Apostles’ Creed seeks to be a safe place to explore, discuss, and hold any secondary doctrines outside of these core beliefs. It’s a safe place for Unitarians and Trinitarians, for Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, and anyone who would affirm the core beliefs. It is for those who hold different opinions, yet are part of the One True Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12). The Church of the Apostles’ Creed is a place where it is not just about what you believe, but how you believe it.
