Behavior Policy
The following policies (collectively, the “Behavior Policy”), shall be in force for all users of the Website and members of the UCA.
Users must not misuse this Website or its Services. You will not: commit or encourage a criminal offense; transmit or distribute a virus, trojan, worm, logic bomb, or any other material which is malicious, technologically harmful, in breach of confidence or in any way offensive or obscene; hack into any aspect of the Website or Service; corrupt data; cause annoyance to other users; infringe upon the rights of any other person’s proprietary rights; send any unsolicited advertising or promotional material, commonly referred to as “spam”; or attempt to affect the performance or functionality of any computer facilities of or accessed through this Website. Breaching this provision may constitute a criminal offense and the UCA may report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and disclose your identity to them.
No online harassment of users or UCA affiliates is permitted. Online harassment is defined herein as the use of the Website or its data for any of the following purposes:
- Sending any online messages, including e-mail, live chat, or other online services, that are threatening in nature or that are meant to cause harm or damage to the recipient.
- Encouraging others to send the victim unsolicited and/or threatening messages or to overwhelm the victim with messages.
- Distributing viruses or malicious software.
- Creating and/or spreading rumors about the victim or making defamatory statements about the victim online.
- Impersonating the victim online, including sending any negative, inflammatory, controversial, or enticing messages to others in the guise of the victim.
- Leaving abusive or exploitative messages on online platforms, including social media sites outside of the UCA’s Website.
- Engaging in exploitative or predatory behavior on online platforms, including social media sites outside of the UCA’s Website.
- Sending the victim pornography or any other offensive graphic material.
- Creating any form of online content that knowingly depicts the victim in abusive or exploitative ways.
No inappropriate content, or content that is determined to be inappropriate by the UCA’s Board of Directors, shall be permitted in the content provided by its users or members through either its member profile pages, messages exchanged through the Services of the Website, or its Contact form. Examples of inappropriate content include:
- Content that is explicitly or overtly sexual or pornographic in nature.
- Content that promotes the abuse of drugs or alcohol.
- Content that breaks national or international laws, or promotes the breaking of such laws.
- Content that is hateful, racist, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, derogatory, defamatory, obscene, abusive, misogynistic, threatening, unethical, indecent, offensive, exploitative, predatory, or libelous.
If the UCA determines that any of its members have engaged in behavior that is in violation of any part of this Behavior Policy, any of the Terms of Service, or for any reason as determined by the UCA Board of Directors, it reserves the right to terminate their membership and/or access to the Website and its Services. If the UCA determines that such violations have occurred on online or other platforms external to the Website, it may likewise choose to terminate any user or group’s membership and/or access to the Website and its Services.
If the Behavior Policy is breached by a user, member, or group, and the UCA takes no action, the UCA will nevertheless reserve the right to resolve any other situation wherein you or other users, members, or groups have breached this policy.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Unitarian Christian Alliance, its directors, officers, employees, consultants, agents, and affiliates, from any and all third-party claims, liability, damages and/or costs (including, but not limited to, legal fees) arising from your use of this Website, your membership or participation in the UCA and its activities, or your breach of the Terms of Service.
Waiver
If you breach these conditions and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these conditions.
Entire Agreement
The above Terms of Service constitute the entire agreement of the parties and supersede any and all preceding and contemporaneous agreements between you and the Unitarian Christian Alliance. Any waiver of any provision of the Terms of Service will be effective only if in writing and signed by a Director of the Unitarian Christian Alliance.
